In the Japanese community at Brazil, I'm a so-called sansei, a grandson of
Japanese immigrants who came to Brazil in the late 30's. I have a degree in
Electrical Enginnering and I've spent the past six years working on a Brazilian
financial institution. Currently, I'm trying to begin a new academic career
in Mathematics. I really enjoy learning about different cultures, and during my
life, I had the opportunity to live in very different places: I've spent my
childhood in a small Brazilian city in the Rain Forest region, but when I was
17, I moved to Sao Paulo, one of the greatest metropolis in the South
hemisphere, where I lived for about 10 years. In 2003, I've spent some time in the US, attending an MBA course at Carnegie Mellon University, and currently I'm living in the same small city where I grew up, at the Amazon region. I like to
learn about Math, Physics, Astronomy, Exobiology, and cutting-edge technologies (nanotechnology, robotics, artificial intelligence, etc), but I'm not a specialist in any of these fields. My preferred readings are Science Fiction novels (Asimov and Scott Card are the best!) and Brazilian literature.
