Intellectual giftedness was and is focused by scientists for decades.
Not all scientists agree with the iq cut-off of 130
(mean = 100, standard deviation = 15) or 132 (M =100, SD = 16)
or 148 (M =100, SD = 24). To be undependend on different
test norms we can claim a level of a percentile rank of 98 and above.
The test score must be better than the result of 98 % of the unselected
population.

To recognize intellectual
giftedness iq tests are only one
but a save method. Another one
would be observations of
outstanding performances made  by the social environment. This could
be parents, friends or teachers.
Sometimes you have to differ
between high achievers and the
highly gifted.
